To: PCHS Community
Pinckneyville Community High School #101 has been under construction for the past 13 months and as a part of that process, asbestos removal is taking place. I would like parents and the public to be rest assured that none of the student, staff, or community members on-site are being exposed to asbestos during the removal. Some people may have concern of being exposed during the removal process. I am taking the time to make sure you understand that the asbestos removal process is following all State and Federal Regulations and is a contained removal of asbestos following Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) rules and regulations. The students, staff, and community are not in danger of being exposed during this removal process, as it is contained.
An IDPH licensed consultant is on site during all abatement work hours, in accordance with IDPH rules and regulations, to monitor the air inside and outside the containment to further insure the safety for all building occupants.
We will continue to monitor the process to ensure the safety of everyone that is on-site. We have moved students away from the areas and the removal company has built the necessary containment area to prevent exposure. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (618) 357-5013 ext. 101.
Sincerely,
Jonathan D. Green
Superintendent
